Participants will engage in real laboratory research on topics of plant oil biotechnology and develop a teaching module which can be taught in secondary school science classes based on their authentic research experience. The participants will be paid a $800 stipend for conducting research, a certificate of completion or continuing education credits (teachers). Secondary school teachers as well as sophomores and juniors with substantial science credits in the MU College of Education are eligible to apply. Non-majors at MU or anybody attending nearby colleges in commuting distance whose goal is to become science teachers are also encouraged to apply.
